Khawaja was born in Pakistan and grew up in the city of Lahore. He received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of London in 2016 and worked as a corporate associate for a law firm out of Prague. After moving across the globe to Indiana, Khawaja received his LLM in corporate and commercial law from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2018. He then proceeded to clerk for Steven H. David, a former Indiana Supreme Court Justice, and was counsel for a startup in Estonia.
Khawaja received his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2022. During law school, he was a law clerk for IU Health, the Indiana Attorney General’s office, and the Marion County Public Defender Agency.
