Family law matters are deeply personal, and helping clients through these difficulties and concerns requires a unique combination of empathy, tenacity, and skill. Attorney Connie Phillips has built her legal career on the guiding principle that families and, most of all, children deserve exceptional, caring counsel and representation that help them move forward to a healthier, happier life. She brings years of experience providing that level of service to her role as senior counsel at Camden & Meridew, P.C.
A Dedicated, Driven Indiana Family Law Attorney
Connie Phillips has been an attorney for more than 25 years. She attended a top-20 law school and, after graduating with honors, practiced employment law at one of the largest law firms in the state. While there, she volunteered as a guardian ad litem and developed a lifelong passion for child welfare.
Prior to joining Camden & Meridew, Connie spent more than seven years with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS), where she never lost a single trial, administrative appeal, or appellate review. At DCS, Connie progressed from local office attorney to deputy chief counsel to chief counsel, aggressively but compassionately leading all aspects of litigation for a five-county team of attorneys and legal assistants carrying more than 400 cases at a time. Connie championed reform during her time with the agency and wrote the report that resulted in reduced caseload standards for DCS attorneys across the state.
Compassionate Service & the Experience Families Need
Connie’s extensive trial experience includes examining and cross-examining expert witnesses, forensic toxicologists, medical doctors, law enforcement officers, school officials, both hostile and cooperative parents, therapists and mental health professionals, and eyewitnesses. She is particularly skilled in compassionately working with child witnesses and child victims. She has appeared for clients in over 2,000 hearings in courts around Indianapolis and central Indiana.
More About Attorney Connie Phillips
Connie prides herself on the ethical practice of law. She strives to build relationships with opposing counsel in order to effectively reach mutually beneficial outcomes as quickly and efficiently as possible. She understands that family law matters can be emotionally and financially exhausting, and she attempts to resolve cases as peacefully as possible to preserve post-divorce relationships. When that is not an option, she is a determined and aggressive litigator who knows that preparation wins trials.
When she is not advocating for Indiana families, Connie enjoys hiking and backpacking with her dog and spending time with her college-age kids and husband, Kerry.
